Peach cobbler is one of my favorite desserts, and it totally reminds me of summer because most of the time when I make it, its when we are camping!

I cook it up in the dutch oven over some coals, and it is the perfect hot dessert to eat before climbing into bed.

I usually make it with canned peaches, and a cake mix to make it super easy - since we are taking it camping after all.

But this version with fresh peaches, and a homemade cake type topping is amazing and its the perfect way to eat cobbler all year, but especially all summer long!

Topping the slow cooker cobbler with ice cream is a must! Because you can't have cobbler without vanilla ice cream. You can also add a maraschino cherry if you want ;)

If you love this peach cobbler recipe you'll also love these peach cobbler dump cake, or peach cobbler pound cake.

Helpful Tips to make Crock Pot Peach Cobbler:

  • You can use frozen, or canned peaches instead of fresh peaches. Don't use all the liquid in the canned peaches because the extra liquid will make the cobbler topping a little softer with less crunch on top. (I do recommend fresh peaches if they are in season though, they're flavor is just perfection)
  • Use a slow cooker liner, if you want for super easy clean up!

    Sausage Gravy and Biscuit Skillet

Classic Sausage Gravy and Biscuits can be on your table in just 30 minutes. This is a one skillet recipe that is sure to make it into your permanent recipe file. Flavorful saw mill gravy made with sausage and scrumptious biscuits that goes from prep to plate in 30 minutes.

I have eaten my share of sausage gravy and biscuits growing up, as a matter of fact I worked at a southern restaurant in my teens. Truth is, I had a lot of jobs in my younger years.

I think I was finding my place. Well this restaurant wasn't it long term, but their food was amazing and I ate biscuits and gravy every day at work.  You could easily say sausage gravy and biscuits are one of my favorites.

    How to Make Sausage Gravy

Even though it is a favorite, I have shyed away from making it because I didn't want to go through all the work of making biscuits and washing all those pans.

Ugh.  That was until I created this fabulous one skillet recipe.

The sage breakfast sausage is cooked in an oven safe skillet.  Scrumptious saw mill gravy is built right in that same skillet and then cheesy biscuits are dropped on top of your sausage gravy.

Just pop the skillet in the oven to bake the biscuits and it is ready to serve.

I even clean up the kitchen and set the table while the biscuits are cooking.  Easy peasy.

The perfect family breakfast (or lunch or dinner).  Truthfully its so good, I eat it any time of the day!

Just 30 minutes from prep to plate and enough time to phone a friend or clean your kitchen.

Helpful Tips to make Sausage Gravy and Biscuit Skillet:

    • If the gravy thickens too much, add a splash of milk to loosen it back up.
    • The sausage gravy will thicken as the biscuits cook in the oven so be sure it is a little looser when you put it in the oven.
    • This recipe calls for Parmesan cheese, but feel free to use any type of cheese that you like!

Chicken pot pies absolutely rank high on my comfort food radar.

But finding the time to dote over the perfect classic chicken pot pie can take hours and to be honest after a long hard day working and taking care of my 6-year-old.

I do not have the time or patience for that.

What I do have is a never ending desire for fabulous flavorful food in a snap!  This skillet hits the mark.

From the time I put the skillet on the stove until the time it was on my plate was a mere 30 minutes.  That I can do!  Definitely the new family favorite.

With a secret ingredient that really takes this dish to the next level and only 30 minutes from prep to plate this will be on your menu again and again.

Helpful Tips to make One-Skillet Chicken Pot Pie:

    • Pre-shredded cheeses have additives to help keep the cheese from sticking together, called anti-caking agents. They also change the way the cheese melts and will cause thickening of your recipes. Skip the pre-shredded cheese and grate your own. I store it in a zip-top bag in the fridge and it keeps for several weeks.

What you will need to make One-Skillet Chicken Pot Pie:

    • A large skillet with a lid – To help the pasta cook evenly, a wide skillet works best, ideally one that’s more than 12 inches in diameter.
    • Mixing BowlI like a variety of mixing bowls and prep bowls and this set has them all.
    • Baking Sheet- used for everything from cookies to roasting, a good baking pan will last for years.

    Enjoy!

    Copycat Hooters Fried Pickles

Most popular in the South, fried pickles are perfectly crunchy with just the right amount of tanginess. Made famous by Hooters restaurant, now you can enjoy your favorite fried pickles at home with our simple copycat recipe ready in a snap!
are perfectly crunchy with just the right amount of tanginess Copycat Hooters Fried Pickles
I mean look at that crisp coating. Who could resist that?

My favorite fried pickles are found at that famous beach-themed, orange-short-wearing sports bar–Hooters! The bar actually originated in my home state of Florida so it makes perfect sense that they would create a fabulous recipe fit for a southern gal.

A southern favorite; fried pickles are crisp and tangy.  The consummate southern starter, the fried pickle begins as a slice is dipped in a seasoned buttermilk mixture, dredged in a tasty coating and deep fried in oil until perfectly golden brown.  They are traditionally served with a horseradish or spicy ranch sauce, but I say why mess with a good thing?  I eat mine as they are.

Have you ever tried fried pickles? Well they come as a surprise.  Chad was completely shocked at the delicious flavor.  He was so thrilled that he made another batch himself and then we devoured them.

Aside from being unbelievably tasty, these are a cinch to make.  Truth be told, my culinary-challenged husband actually prepared the ones in the photo above.  Yep.  They are that simple. Though in his defense he does make a mean French toast.

This 30-minute recipe is sure to please.  They are good for lunch, good for dinner, perfect for breakfast… Good to make just because pickles are on sale.  And always good to make just because the day of the week ends in Y….

Our most popular recipe every Thanksgiving is this one Sweet Potato Casserole Boston Market Copycat (With Video)

When Chad and I were first dating, most weekends, we would pick up a movie and head to Boston Market.

We would order our favorite meatloaf and sides for dinner and take it to go.  There is nothing quite like Boston Market meatloaf and sweet potato casserole, well except their corn bread.

    That is pretty fabulous too.

On our way back to Chad's apartment we would stop and pick up a pint of ice cream.  Then we would sit down and enjoy our dinner while we watched The X-Files.

Do you remember that show?  Oh we watched it every week.  That was a great sci-fi series!

These days it's more like Walking Dead.  That is our favorite horror series now.  But, in true form we sit down every week and enjoy that show.

Is it just me or do you enjoy staying at home?  We like going out every now and then but truth be told we are homebodies.

Being at home just fits.  Whether we are having game night, throwing parties or just cuddling up to a great movie, being at home is a good fit.

Growing up my parents never went out without us.  I could probably count on one hand the number of times we had a babysitter.

Perhaps watching my parents for the 42 years they were married, a few things rubbed off on me.

Whether its for Thanksgiving or a movie night this copycat Boston Market Sweet Potato Casserole is going to blow your mind.

Rich mashed sweet potatoes with butter, cream, brown sugar and spices are topped with marshmallow and a scrumptious crisp brown sugar streusel. The ultimate side for any meal.
