Pizza In a Pan

This scrumptious Pizza Pasta Skillet is a simple one One-Pot Pizza Pasta Skillet
My dad's mom is from Naples, Italy so growing up we enjoyed many recipes from the old country. Food brings people together and that was exactly the case at my grandparents house. There seemed to always be a pot of sauce on the stove and something delicious cooking. And when there wasn't one of our favorite things to do was to explore the neighborhood and walk down to the deli and grab a "slice". The Italian deli by grandma's house had the best of all things Italy, but the pizza was out of this world!

Brilliantly colorful pizza Margherita with its gorgeous green (basil), white (mozzarella cheese) and red (tomato sauce) ingredients was created and named after the first queen of Italy. It totally reminds me of my grandma!

I took the classic pizza Margherita and transformed it into the most scrumptious one-pot pasta dish. It is loaded it up with hot sausage and mini pepperoni, corkscrew cellentani pasta, Classico® Tomato Basil pasta sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

It is absolutely the best one-pot pizza dish we have ever tasted. The vibrant flavor of the sauce really elevates the dish. The entire family devoured this one and you will too.

prep time: 5 MINScook time: 15 MINStotal time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 pound hot smoked sausage, cut into coins
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni, divided
  • 8 ounces uncooked cellentani pasta
  • 1 (15 ounce) jar pasta sauce
  • 2 cups reduced sodium chicken stock
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 5 fresh basil leaves, torn or chiffonade

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat add the sausage, half of the pepperoni, uncooked pasta, pasta sauce and chicken stock. Stir to combine and cover. Bring to a boil. Reduce to medium and cook until pasta is al dente, about 10-12 minutes. When the pasta is cooked there will be some liquid in the pan. That will create a delicious sauce for the pasta as it cools.

Slow Cooker Hawaiian BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Take your pulled pork to the next level with these Slow Cooker Hawaiian Pulled Pork Sandwiches! They are the perfect combination of tangy and sweet with a pineapple barbecue sauce that will rock your world!!! Fully loaded, they are the perfect anytime sandwich.
Take your pulled pork to the next level with these Slow Cooker Hawaiian BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches
These Slow Cooker Hawaiian Pulled Pork Sandwiches are the perfect laid back dinner that is easy to make but tastes like a million bucks.

Plus, with the weather being hotter than Hades, using the slow cooker instead of the oven is a definite plus.

Hello friends! Melanie here again from Garnish & Glaze to share an awesome summer sandwich with you.

I do love a good classic pulled pork sandwich but sometimes you've gotta switch things up a bit and add some more color and texture. After trying this sandwich, I don't think you'll go back to the ordinary one not to mention the other Hawaiian inspired recipes you can find here.

The first step is elevating the flavor of the slow cooker pulled pork. Instead of cooking the pork with water or soda, you'll pour in some pineapple juice.

This adds sweetness as well as more of a Hawaiian flavor profile. You'll also add pineapple juice to the barbecue sauce and cook it down so it thickens.

I'm not a big fan of coleslaw as a side dish but it's a must on shredded meat sandwiches like my
Buffalo Chicken Sliders and pulled pork sandwiches.

I love that it balances out the sweetness of the sauce, adds freshness, color, and texture. Yes, it gets a bit messy but only the best foods are, right?!

The last component of this sandwich that really gives it the Hawaiian feel is the pineapple, grilled pineapple.

If you've ever been to one of those meat-lovin Brazilian restaurants I'm sure you've tried that delicious, sweet, buttery grilled pineapple.

It's seriously my favorite way to eat pineapple and tastes amazing with pork. It seems a little strange to put pineapple on a sandwich but it totally works. You'll love it!

Take your pulled pork to the next level with these Slow Cooker Hawaiian BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Helpful Tips to make Slow Cooker Hawaiian Pulled Pork Sandwiches:

  • Plan ahead! Since you're working with the slow cooker, be sure to put the pork in sometime in morning so it has enough time to cook and get tender. It will take you all of 5 minutes to throw it in there so no excuses.
  • Make the barbecue sauce during the morning or day when you have time or at least 15 minutes before you're ready to shred the meat.
  • I recommend using a spicy barbecue sauce that isn't already too sweet. My go-to is Open Pit (Original). It's a great base and I'm able to add as much sugar as I want and tone down the heat by adding a little ketchup.
  • Buy the pineapple juice in small 6 ounces cans. They sell them in a set of 8. This way you won't waste any or have to store a big bottle of pineapple juice in the fridge. But if you do buy it in a bottle and don't know what to do with the rest, use it in smoothies!
  • Use fresh pineapple. After cutting off the skin, slice the pineapple into rings. Use a small round biscuit or cookie cutter to remove the middle core.
  • For a more colorful coleslaw, make your own mix of green and purple cabbage and carrots. Sometimes stores will make fresh coleslaw mixes and have them in next to the refrigerated salad dressings.

What you will need to make Slow Cooker Hawaiian Pulled Pork Sandwiches:

  • Slow Cooker- Every home needs a slow cooker. I love using it in the summer so I don't heat up the whole house and it is just makes cooking so much easier because you just set it and let it do all the work.
  • Small Sauce Pan- I use my small sauce pan all the time for steaming vegetables to making all kinds of delicious sauces for dinner and desserts.
  • Grill Pan- I love having a grill pan for small things like the pineapple in this dish or for the winter. You still get the beautiful grill marks without having to heat up the whole grill and walk in and out of the house.

Enjoy!

Bacon Cheddar Beer Potatoes Au Gratin

Bacon Cheddar Beer Potatoes Au Gratin are your favorite rich and creamy potatoes taken to a whole new level with bacon, cheese and beer.
are your favorite rich and creamy potatoes taken to a whole new level with bacon Bacon Cheddar Beer Potatoes Au Gratin

Are you looking for the perfect side dish?  I have been dreaming of a side dish so insanely divine that I would need to build a meal around it.

Loaded with bacon, beer and cheese I am pretty sure this is it!!!  Even though I am not a big beer drinker (I would much rather sip on a glass of merlot) I really love the flavor beer gives to a dish when cooked with it.

We have had many bacon cheese loves in our food experience.  But, none have come so close to perfection.

These potatoes are rich, creamy, tender, bacony, cheesy and boast a lovely flavor from the beer.  You are printing this recipe out...  Right?  You have to try this.

So, back to this story... I thought I was just about to the point of side dish perfection with the Bacon Cheddar Hasselback Potatoes

It was so close, but just a tiny bit short of being the consummate side.  (I think if it had beer in it, I would have flipped though).

So here we are, a traditional potatoes au gratin turned into a heavenly Bacon Cheddar Beer Potatoes Au Gratin.  Did you flinch?  Bacon, cheddar and beer with potatoes?

Oh yes there is nothing light about this dish.  It is intentionally rich and decadent.  Lighten the guilt, serve it with a side salad.

Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin

This easy Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin recipe is the ultimate weeknight dinner. Perfectly cooked, juicy, roasted pork tenderloin that is bursting with flavor!
recipe is the ultimate weeknight dinner Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin
We are so excited to be partnering with our friends at Safeway to bring you a scrumptious easy dinner recipe. Easy enough for a weeknight dinner and perfect for the holidays with family and friends.

Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin is one of my go-to weeknight dinners. It’s super easy to make, it only requires a few simple ingredients, and the flavor is amazing.

Fresh rosemary, thyme, and garlic coat the pork tenderloin and the flavors infuse into the pork as it roasts. It smells amazing as it cooks, and tastes even better!

recipe is the ultimate weeknight dinner Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin

Pork tenderloin is a lean cut of pork so naturally I turned to Open Nature® Pork from my local Safeway to get a really well marbled tenderloin.

All Open Nature® Pork comes from the Duroc heritage breed which is known for its high degree of marbling. That translates into more tender, juicy, and flavorful pork. Basically, that makes preparing a delicious dinner “fool proof”.

recipe is the ultimate weeknight dinner Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin

When you are making such a simple recipe you need to start with quality ingredients. Open Nature® is a brand dedicated to a clean lifestyle and has a wide variety of products including 100% natural meat.

I just learned that Open Nature® Pork is antibiotic free (no antibiotics ever), 100% vegetarian fed, has no added hormones or growth promotants, and it’s raised crate free. That makes me feel really good about feeding my family!

recipe is the ultimate weeknight dinner Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin

What is the best seasoning for pork tenderloin?

You can marinate your tenderloin but, for this easy recipe, I simply salt and pepper the tenderloin before browning it in a hot skillet.

Then I rub it with a homemade herb butter made with salted butter, rosemary, thyme, and garlic.

The herb butter soaks into the meat as it roasts and what you end up with is a perfectly tender, juicy, roasted pork tenderloin that is bursting with the flavor of fresh herbs.

How to cook my pork tenderloin

After browning it in a hot skillet, into a roasting pan it goes, along with some more fresh herbs, and it bakes for about 20 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.

Helpful Tips to make Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin:

  • Make sure your skillet is fully heated before adding your pork tenderloin. You want to get a good sear on each side to help seal in the juices.
  • Use a meat thermometer. The key to a moist roasted pork tenderloin is making sure it isn’t overcooked. When the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F it is done!
  • It is ok if there is a little pink coloring to your pork as long as your meat thermometer indicates that it reached an internal temperature of 145 degrees F.

What you will need to make Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin:

  • A large skillet – This skillet is the perfect size for browning my pork tenderloin.
  • Roasting PanA good quality roasting pan can be used to make so many amazing meals.
  • Meat ThermometerThis is a game-changer! No more over-cooking your pork. Use this meat thermometer to get perfectly cooked, juicy, pork every time.

Enjoy!

Roasted Pork Tenderloin

This easy Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin recipe is the ultimate weeknight dinner. Perfectly cooked, juicy, roasted pork tenderloin that is bursting with flavor!
prep time: 10 minscook time: 40 minstotal time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 – 1 1/2 pounds Open Nature® Pork Tenderloin
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • 3-4 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1 bundle of fresh thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Rinse the pork in cool water and pat dry with paper towels, this helps the meat sear better without creating steam.
  3. Sprinkle the pork tenderloin with salt and pepper on all sides.
  4. Heat a large skillet (I used cast iron) over medium high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the heated skillet.
  5. Place the tenderloin in the skillet and brown on each side, approximately 2-3 minutes per side. Set aside and let cool for 5 minutes.
  6. In a small bowl combine butter, rosemary, thyme, and garlic. Mash together with a fork or spoon to create the herb butter.
  7. When the pork has cooled rub with herb butter. Use a butter knife if necessary to avoid burning your hands. The butter will begin to melt, that's ok!
  8. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil and place the pork tenderloin in the pan.
  9. Place fresh rosemary and thyme on either side of the pork tenderloin.
  10. Place the pork tenderloin in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F.
  11. Let rest for 5 minutes, so the juices can evenly distribute, before slicing.
