recipe is the fusion of hot buffalo wings and a burger Spicy Buffalo Chicken Burger

I created this burger for Chad, my awesome husband.  His love of way too spicy hot sauce and buffalo wings coated in said 'burn your face off' hot sauce was the inspiration for this burger.

Right away I knew that the burger needed to be on a pretzel bun; this recipe linked to is a fabulous definition of what a pretzel bun should taste like.

It is firm and pretzely on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside.  What a magical combination!

Now I can't speak much of buffalo wings as they are on my list of things I don't eat.

Maybe my mom dropped me on my head when I was a baby or perhaps I am just weird.

Who knows, but I am going with the latter.

This Buffalo Chicken Burger on the other hand was my perfect opportunity to create my perfect version of Hot Buffalo Chicken wings the way I see them and it was a total success.

I started with spicy chicken sausage to pull in the flavors of the buffalo wings and its also something I can eat.

Then, I added honey and  butter to the hot sauce to sweeten it up and give it a silky finish.  Its just hot enough to make your mouth tingle, the perfect heat to make both of us happy.

Then, I incorporated the blue cheese that is usually served with hot wings and it made for a fantastic combination!

This burger is really simple, but sooooo amazing!  So cancel your dinner plans you are going to want to make this ASAP.  Oh, and don't forget the beer, you are going to LOVE this!

Helpful Tips to make Spicy Buffalo Chicken Burger:

  • To cut the spiciness, you can substitute mild chicken sausage for the spicy.
  • Do not press down on your burger with a spatula. It will cause the juices to escape and will create a dry burger!

    Spicy Buffalo Chicken Burger

Spicy Chicken Buffalo Chicken Burger recipe is the fusion of hot buffalo wings and a burger. It is truly the best of both worlds. A chicken burger with enough kick to make your taste buds stand at attention. It is served on a soft pretzel roll with bleu cheese, it is a fav and you are going to love it too.

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
    • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 3 tablespoons honey
    • 1 pound spicy chicken sausage, casings removed
    • Olive oil
    • 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles
    • red onion slices
    • 4 pretzel buns (or your favorite bun)

    Instructions

    1. Preheat grill to medium-high.
    2. In a small sauce pan over medium heat, combine the butter and honey.  Once the butter mixture is melted add the buffalo sauce.  Whisk to combine, once mixture is almost boiling (starting to bubble) reduce to simmer until thickened.
    3. Portion and form chicken sausage into patties slightly larger than your bun (4 ounce to serve 4, 8 ounce to serve 2).  Make a slight indentation in the center of the burger to prevent it from doming up in the center. The indentation will rise as your burger cooks.
    4. Grill until golden brown and slightly charred (about 3-5 minutes), turning once (cook for 3 minutes on the other side for medium). Once patty is flipped, liberally brush the hot sauce onto the burger.  After you remove the burger from the heat, brush the other side. Try not to press down on your burger with a spatula. It will cause the juices to escape and will create a dry burger! To assemble burger, place 2 rings of red onion on the bottom bun.  Place the chicken sausage on top.  Make sure chicken sausage patty is well coated in hot sauce.
    5. Add blue cheese to top of burger.
    6. Serve and enjoy!

are an epic twist on the classic burger recipe Sausage Summer Sliders
We are so excited to be partnering with our friends at Jones Dairy Farm to bring you my new favorite summer slider!

are an epic twist on the classic burger recipe Sausage Summer Sliders

Burgers are always a crowd pleaser during the summer. And pork and apples are one of my favorite combinations!

When I was trying to think of the perfect new slider, the vision of a sausage summer slider with pork, barbecue sauce and sweet and tangy apple slaw was born.

It is absolutely amazing. Every bite is an explosion of flavor!

are an epic twist on the classic burger recipe Sausage Summer Sliders

What is the best sausage to use in Sausage Summer Sliders?

You really want to start with a sausage patty that has fantastic flavor and one that is good enough to stand on its own.

Jones Dairy Farm sausage is absolutely amazing! With big bold flavors packed into a little patty these all-natural sausages are incredibly versatile and can be used for any meal breakfast, lunch or dinner.

They are fully cooked and contain no nitrates or nitrites, no preservatives, and no MSG. And they are made with just five ingredients: pork, water, salt, spices and sugar!

What kind of buns do you use with sliders?

The type of bun that you use with a slider really depends on what kind of slider you are serving and what the toppings are. If you are serving a really saucy Chicken Parmesan Slider, a soft toasted Hawaiian bread, or a firmer ciabatta is the perfect match.

With a soft and tender Cheesy Sausage and Egg Breakfast Sliders a sweet Hawaiian roll was again the perfect match.

For this Sausage Summer Slider with bbq sauce and crispy slaw topping we opted for a brioche dinner roll that was perfectly sized for our sausage patties!

are an epic twist on the classic burger recipe Sausage Summer Sliders

Helpful Tips to make Sausage Summer Sliders:

    • Jones Dairy Farm All Natural Golden Brown® Pork sausage patties add tremendous flavor to this recipe but you can easily form your own patties with their pork breakfast sausage roll. Visit the product locator on the Jones Dairy Farm website to find their products at a store near you.
    • You can make these ahead and keep them tented with aluminum foil in a disposable pan for the perfect tail gating meal!
    • If you prefer you can use thinly sliced green cabbage and julienned carrots in place of the cole slaw mix.

What you will need to make Sausage Summer Sliders:

      • Mandoline slicer - This slicer is perfect for making easy work of uniform fruit or vegetable slices. I must have bought and returned 6 mandoline slicers before this one.  This one, I have had for 7 years and I still love it.
      • Cutting Board- A big good solid cutting board so you can prep all your veggies on one surface.  I use my cutting board daily so it’s worth the investment.
      • Quality Knives- Quality knives make prep time much quicker and are important for safety as well.  If you make one kitchen investment, I believe it should be in quality knives.

      Enjoy!

The sounds of summer in the air had me whipping off my grill cover and dusting off my grill this weekend.  Chad has been talking about having a fine steakhouse burger all week.  When I say he has been talking about it, I mean it!  This is how our good nights went last evening.  Me:  "Goodnight baby."  Chad: "So, what do you think about having burgers tomorrow".  Really?

Once menu requests sneak into your goodnights...  It's serious.

I started thinking and planning my next burger masterpiece.  I have really been diggin' cooking with beer lately.  I love the flavor it imparts into a dish.  So, I decided to add some beer into our steakhouse burger.  That and some smoky flavor create a fabulous base for this gourmet burger.

This smoky beer burger is topped with barbecue sauce, cheese and caramelized beer onions.  It comes together in just 30 minutes.

      • Mix until just combined. Overmixing will create a tough burger and that isn't good for anyone.
      • Resist the temptation to press down on the burger with a spatula. It doesn't make them cook faster, it just presses out the juices and all the flavor, leaving you with a dry burger. Again, no one wants that!
      • Preaheat your grill to medium or medium high.

What you will need to make Steakhouse Smoky Barbecue Beer Burgers with Caramelized Beer Onions:
